The Route

We travelled up the west of the UK and have GPS on the complete route.

Overall 905 miles in 8 days and 4 hours - we decided on taking a fast route and used mostly A roads.

This is the route we actually took -

which is now posted on Bikely courtesy PB @

Here is the finalised Route and stops:

Day 1      Lands End to Okehampton - 107 miles

Day 2          Okehampton to Clevedon - 93 miles

Day 3         Clevedon to Shrewsbury - 120 miles

Day 4             Shrewsbury to Preston - 93 miles

Day 5            Preston to Ecclefechan - 110 miles

Day 6 Ecclecfechen to Balloch (Loch Lomond) - 104 miles

Day 7 Balloch (Loch Lomond) to Invegarry - 107 miles

Day 8         Invegarry to Helmsdale - 115 miles

Day 9    Helmsdale to John O'Groats - 55 miles

Here's what we looked at as options.

We're still debating the exact days and distances but here is the fastest option which will take 7 days:

Lands End -> Tiverton     130 Miles
Tiverton - Worcester       130 Miles
Worcester - Bramhall        113 miles
Bramhall - Carlisle            130 miles
Carlisle - Helensburg         127 miles
Helensburg - Invermoriston 122 miles
Invermoriston - John O'Groats 147 Miles

Here's a slower alternative
